The innovative and patented T-Soles system offers many advantages over traditional methods of insole design and production.
From a 3D-CT-scan of weight bearing feet inside footwear of choice, insoles are 3D printed, taking into account the internal and external feet anatomy. This automatic process increases productivity as well as product and service quality for podiatrists. And more important, for clients this means therapeutic insoles for actual foot problems and a great increase in comfort.

Probleemstelling
For current podiatry practices, the creation of insoles is both time and labor intensive. Today’s custom therapeutic insoles are produced based on specifications from podiatrists, relying on casting molds or external 2D-scans to model the outside of the feet, together with the podiatrists’ experience and craftsmanship to design the insoles. As the current design of insoles relies heavily on the craftsmanship of the podiatrist, the insole user will receive a different insole design for the same foot problem when approaching different podiatrists. It is also an often-heard complaint from insole users that their insole design is ill-fitting, which leads to poor insole wearing commitment. Furthermore, insole users have to wait several weeks before receiving their insoles, which might not always fit their footwear of choic
Oplossing
The T-Soles system performs a 1-minute scan of both weight-bearing feet inside any shoe type. The 3D-scan data, consisting of the foot bones, soft tissue, and shoe dimensions, are used to calculate the insole design with anatomical corrections for the foot bones. The 3D-printer produces custom insoles that perfectly fit both the feet and the shoes. The insoles can be taken home immediately.

The T-Soles system fixes the shortcomings of the current procedure. The T-Soles system automatically produces custom therapeutic insoles from 3D-scans, personalized for the specific feet, footwear, and specific foot problems of the insole user. Because the T-Soles system is suitable for any shoe type, the insoles created via the T-Soles system can fit any shoe, from high heel to sneaker and ski boot. Therefore, with the T-Soles system, the podiatrist will be able to offer his insole users a variety of insoles suiting all his clients’ needs.

Starting with a 1-minute CT-scan, the outside and the inside of feet inside any type of shoe, carrying the full bodyweight, are imaged. Using the 3D-data of the foot bones and soft tissue, a therapeutic insole design is calculated, which applies anatomical corrections to the foot bone positions. The custom insoles are then produced by a 3D-printer to perfectly fit both the client’s feet and shoes. The insoles’ design can be created in order to be reproduced for future needs and the insoles are ready to be taken home immediately, as opposed to the current production time of several weeks.
