BeSure is digital platform for stroke prevention and rehabilitation. Using wearable devices, IoT and medical equipment, platform gathers information about patients conditions, including physiological data as well as data related to daily activities. BeSure makes real-time analysis of leading health indicators in order to predict the onset of emergent situations. Product provides an effective interactive dashboard for healthcare providers and family members, which helps them clearly understand the patient's condition at any time and any place.
The goal of the project is to reduce risks of first/recurrent heart/brain stroke/attack, helping patients to feel more engaged in their healthcare, cared for and safe.
The key customers of the platform are insurance companies, pension funds and other healthcare payers. They can dramatically reduce their costs by having daily monitoring data of their clients.

Probleemstelling
Stroke is a major cause of hard long-term disability in Western societies, and the third cause of death. EU averages approximately 650,000 stroke deaths each year, 1/3 after recurrent attack.
Stroke ranked second on the list of most costly diseases for the elderly. The prevention and treatment of stroke in the EU is often not optimal: many patients stay in hospital too long without medical necessity, waiting to be discharged to a rehabilitation centre or for home care. As a result, up to 30% of stroke treatment costs are excessive.
Total annual cost of stroke is estimated at €27 - 29 billion in EU and about 65 billion in The US, and these amounts are expected to increase with the aging of population. In the Netherlands, about 400 mln EURO is spent annually for cost treatment. In order to reduce these costs and ensure healthy, active and independent life for elderly, both payers and healthcare providers have to find new ways to monitor, diagnose and prevent stroke.

Today, increase in wearables/IoT usage gives new opportunities to collect and analyze patients’ data in real time. But, in order to make accurate critical conditions predicions, this data should be interpreted in close conjunction with patients' Electronic Health Record.

Designed for stroke prevention, data analytic and prediction module of the platform could be used for other disease monitoring and prevention, such as other cardiovascular and neurological diseases.
Groeiscenario
The project can be easily scaled within the regions with common regulatory rules and similar EHR standards. For other regions, platform could be implemented taking into account the local legislation and integration with local EHR providers;
We develop the universal API with wide opportunities for different wearable/IoT devices to use our platform. This we’ll be helphul for quick market adoptation and expansion, and create some opportunities for device manufacturers to expand their markets;
